The Subaru Outback is a longer, larger vehicle known as a “midsize crossover,” whereas the Subaru Forester is a shorter, smaller “compact crossover.” While the Subaru Outback feels and looks more like a station wagon, the Subaru Forester resembles a small sports utility vehicle.
