Performance comes in the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter horizontally opposed SUBARU BOXER® engine, combining balance with power and efficiency. Direct-injection technology provides 100 hp per liter without the need of turbocharging, 151 lb-ft of torque, and quick acceleration to its 7,400 RPM redline. The Dual Active Valve Control System adjusts valve timing to match the engine's RPM for optimal response. Right out of the starting gate, you'll feel the performance of a 2.0-liter DOHC aluminum-alloy 16-valve SUBARU BOXER® engine. It's built with a Dual Active Valve Control System along with direct- and port-injection technology to help boost power and efficiency.
The 2015 BRZ has an ultra-agile 13.1:1 steering ratio, giving spontaneous response to driver inputs and an exceptional feel for the road. The limited-slip differential gives both improved grip and predictable performance, even when pushed to the limit. With independent MacPherson struts in the front and independent double wishbone suspension in the back and its Torsen® limited-slip differential provides improved grip, making it lively and dynamic through the corners.
- Direct-Injected Subaru Boxer® Engine: Drawn from over 40 years of intelligent achievement, the unique SUBARU BOXER® engine has pistons that move side to side, break off each other's vibrations, so it can run smoother and more efficiently. This horizontal layout also offers better balance while giving a maximum transfer of power. The horizontal layout of the SUBARU BOXER® engine allows for a low center of gravity for improved response. It also sits low in the frame, helping it to drive under the chassis in a front-end collision, protecting the passenger area.
- The BRZ comes with a 6-speed fully integrated close-ratio manual transmission for pinpoint direction. BRZ Limited also offers an available 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
- Front-Engine & Rear-Wheel Drive: For improved response, Subaru engineered the BRZ to send its power to the rear wheels. Combined with a compact, naturally symmetrical drivetrain design, you get a sports car with optimal balance and one of the lowest centers of gravity in its class. The BRZ is designed to be more compact, with the engine placed as low as possible and farther back in the chassis. This rear-drive layout allows for low polar moment and near-perfect balance for pure sports car handling.

Its sport-design instrument panel featuring a center-mounted analog tachometer and digital speedometer. A standard leather-wrapped small-diameter steering wheel for a comfortable, driver-focused feel, Red accent stitching along with a leather-wrapped shift knob and heavily reinforced sports seats keep you comfortably in place which are positioned ideally for the sports car connection. BRZ Limited models add leather-trimmed upholstery with Alcantara® seat inserts.
- BRZ Limited features touch-activated keyless access and push-button start functions which allows you to unlock, enter, and start the car without your key ever leaving your pocket, purse or bag.
- Bluetooth® hands-free technology lets you manage your phone and audio system by voice and controls on the steering wheel. Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones link directly through the Subaru audio system.
- Premium Audio, SiriusXM™ & AHA Infotainment: BRZ features an 8-speaker audio system with an in-dash CD player, MP3 playback capability and SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio[1], offering up to 170 channels of music, sports, news, weather, talk and comedy in high-quality digital sound. SAFETY
- Vehicle Stability Control automatically senses steering and braking inputs to help keep the vehicle on the driver's intended path.
- Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up and helps maintain driver control. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) balances braking, while Brake Assist can sense a panic-stop situation and apply full braking force to help stop faster.
- An engine immobilizer is standard on all models, while the BRZ Limited also features an anti-theft security system for added protection.
- 6-Airbags: The BRZ comes standard with a total of 6-Airbags to help prevent injury: front, front seat side torso/pelvis, and side-curtain.[3] The advanced system uses an array of sensors to help deploy the airbags in the most effective way possible.
