Even though Subaru cars are known for their long-lasting nature, they still require regular maintenance in order to perform at their best. April just so happens to be National Car Care Month, and here at Heritage Subaru Owings Mills, our mechanics recommend using this month to get your Subaru car in top condition.
Here in our Subaru service center, these are some of the types of services that we’re performing to keep your car running at its best.
Types of Regular Maintenance
We talk a lot about the importance of regular maintenance here at Heritage Subaru Owings Mills, but what types of things can we do when performing regular maintenance? Here is a car maintenance checklist:
- Oil and coolant levels: It’s a good idea to inspect your oil and coolant levels on a regular basis. Low levels of either can lead to engine problems if left unfixed.
- Air filter: The air filter is what regulates the air that flows into your car’s engine and helps to keep out debris and particles. Making sure your air filter is flowing properly improves fuel efficiency, decreases emissions, and helps increase the life of your engine.
- Tire pressure and tread depth: The fluctuating temperatures that go along with the changing seasons can also cause your tire pressure to increase or decrease. We’ll make sure that the tires are ready to handle the summer climate.
- Battery condition: A car battery supplies large amounts of electrical current for the starter, engine, and other electrical accessories in the vehicle. Winter can take its toll on your battery, so we’ll make sure that it has enough charge and clean from any corrosion.
