Eligibility and Inspection
In order to even be considered for the coveted CPO designation, a used Subaru car must be less than five years old and have under 80,000 miles. If it meets these requirements, the car undergoes a rigorous and comprehensive 152-point inspection, where anything that doesn’t meet the high standards set by Subaru is repaired or replaced.
Everything from brake pads to tire tread to the smallest engine components is inspected and replaced with genuine Subaru parts if necessary. The reports are then made available for your review.
Warranty
Every Subaru car and SUV in the CPO program comes with warranty protection, along with a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. The classic warranty plan covers seven years or 100,000 miles and nearly 1,000 parts in all major component areas, including engine, transmission, drivetrain, front suspension, steering, brakes, cooling, fuel systems, and air conditioning.
Buyers can also opt for Gold Plus coverage, which includes all Classic coverage plus hundreds of more parts. All in all, they provide essentially the same bumper-to-bumper coverage as the basic Subaru factory warranty. Finally, the Gold Plus plan also reimburses for lodging and meals when a breakdown interrupts your out-of-town travel plans.
